To obtain the CE stamp, products have to be tested by to one of the agreed European laboratory.
Compared to the former riding hats, CE products can be recognised by :
 Firstly, they have a fixation harness to avoid any risk of loosing.
Secondly, a supple peak or no peak at all to avoid noze fractures
in case the hat would slide forwards.
Thirdly, the most important point compared to the former models,
they must have a polystyrene crown or anything other thick or shock absorbent enough material to pass the shock absorbing tests.
The riding hats which don't have these different elements are considered as a traditional hat and not as a head protection
The BELSTAR brand has decided not to sell any traditional hat and to manufacture only head protection conform to the CE standard |
