How to use tick removal tweezers:

• Adjust the tick removal tweezers to the size of the tick.
• Place the tick removal tweezers against the animal's skin and slide the hook around the tick, approaching it from the side.
• Gently lift the tick removal tweezers and turn it slowly until the tick detaches on its own (usually 2 or 3 rotations).

Caution: To avoid leaving part or all of the tick's head on the animal, it is recommended to remove the tick with a twisting motion rather than pulling.

The tick's head is equipped with small barbs that allow it to anchor in the skin. Pulling on the tick can cause the barbs to penetrate and lock into the skin, potentially leading to the breakage of the head and subsequent inflammation or infection.

Consequently, by turning the tick removal tweezers, the barbs are brought back along the axis of rotation, causing the tick to detach on its own, thereby reducing the risk of head breakage.
