NAF Electro Salts Complementary feed

NAF Electro Salts are formulated to optimise the recovery of horses after work or during hot weather. They compensate for the loss of mineral salts caused by sweating.

Thanks to its concentrated formula of essential plasma salts combined with dextrose for better absorption, this complementary feed is more concentrated than NAF Electro Lytes solution.

When horses are working, or during the hot season, they regulate their body temperature by sweating.

During perspiration, not only is fluid lost through evaporation, but also essential salts for the body, in particular sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Failure to replace these body salts (known as electrolytes) can lead to fatigue, and in extreme cases, damage to muscle, bone and cartilage tissue.

NAF Electro Salts is non-doping and is added to the feed or diluted in a bucket of water provided to the horse.

Always ensure that a supply of clean, fresh water is available at all times.  

Composition

Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium carbonate, calcium lactate, rape seed oil, dextrose.

Analytical constituents 

Protein 0.6%, fats and oils 1.8%, ash 86.8%, fibre 0.1%, acid resistant ash 0.1%, sodium 20.0%, potassium 16.9%, chlorides 45.5%, magnesium 1.55%, calcium 0.35%, glucose 2.35%.

Directions for use

Add to the daily ration, as a cure.

Horse

Initial dose (in competition): 60 g/day for 1 to 3 days.

Maintenance dose: 30 g/day.

Pony 

Starting dose (in competition): 40 g/day for 1 to 3 days.

Maintenance dose: 20 g/day.

Storage instructions

Close tightly after use.

Store in a dry, clean place, away from frost and heat.
