Description

Made from stainless steel with leather-covered mouthpiece and curb chain, the Metalab Pinchless Leather Long Shank Pelham Bit encourages chewing and salivation.

Very pleasant in the horse's mouth, the leather allows greater relaxation and avoids the resonance and cold that can be found in metal bits.

The leather curb chain on the Pelham Metalab Pinchless leather bit with long shanks limits chafing and promotes greater comfort for the horse.

Equipped with long shanks, this Pelham bit offers a leverage effect which contributes to a better control of very energetic or powerful horses.

Used with 1 or 2 pairs of reins or Pelham rings, it is possible to vary the intensity of the leverage effect according to the needs of the horse and the rider's hand.

The Pelham Metalab Pinchless leather bit with long shanks is equipped with the "Pinchless" joint which avoids involuntary pinching of the tongue and commissures. The horse's tongue remains free to move, which improves contact between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth.

What is a Pinchless bit? A pinchless bit is one in which the mouthpiece can be turned without moving the joint. Each half of the bit is therefore independent of the other, allowing more precise action and limiting pinching of the tongue and corners of the mouth.

Maintenance tips

Rinse with clear water after each use until no residue remains.

Oil the leather regularly with a vegetable oil to keep the leather supple.

Do not use if the bit shows any abnormality (rust, damage, etc.).

Size guide

The size of the mouth is a major parameter in the choice of the bit.

A bit at the right size contributes to the comfort of the horse.

The wrong size could hurt him.

Once the bit is in the mouth, there should be a few millimetres between the corner of the lips and the ring to avoid injury.
Indicative measurement.
