METALAB
Ref : 590172
Ideal for strong, sensitive horses or those needing clearer guidance, the Metalab Flexi Medium Half-Moon Spanish Bit combines technical innovation, comfort, and adaptability through a clever leverage system and a horse-friendly design.
Equipped with the Kimblewick system, it offers adjustable control and enhanced stability.
The innovative METALAB Kimblewick system provides multiple rein attachment points, allowing the rider to adjust the leverage effect according to the horse’s needs and the discipline practiced.
This system ensures optimal rein positioning, offering greater stability, confidence, and precision in hand aids.
Featuring the Flexi Mouth concept, the Metalab Flexi Medium Half-Moon Bit has a soft yet stable mouthpiece that offers lateral flexibility while maintaining enough rigidity to ensure consistent, gentle, and symmetrical contact.
Made from ASTM304 stainless steel, it resists corrosion, is easy to maintain, and its mouthpiece is coated with PU EnviroGreen®—a technical, eco-friendly material that is durable and kind to the horse’s sensitive tissues.
This bit is especially suitable for horses that tend to resist rein aids. It can be used with one or two reins, or with pelham converters.
The half-moon center piece prevents the horse from getting its tongue over the bit, making it an excellent choice for horses that tend to evade contact this way.
The Metalab Flexi Medium Half-Moon Spanish Bit comes with a curb chain, which can be adjusted to vary the bit's severity.
The curb chain should lie flat and in contact with the chin groove, allowing for a 45° angle between the shanks and the mouthpiece axis
The use of a curb chain guard is recommended to protect the horse’s sensitive lower jaw bone

Maintenance tips
Rinse thoroughly with clean water after each use to remove all residue
Do not use if the bit shows any signs of damage (cracks, rust, etc.)
The size of the mouth is a major parameter in the choice of the bit.
A bit at the right size contributes to the comfort of the horse.
The wrong size could hurt him.
Once the bit is in the mouth, there should be a few millimetres between the corner of the lips and the ring to avoid injury.
Indicative measurement.
